A very busy week...

We have been so busy at school this week. At the start of the week Pandemonium Theatre Group came into school to share the story of the Hare and Tortoise. The children really enjoyed talking about how the Tortoise won a race because the Hare went to sleep.

In the afternoons we have been using natural resources to make Autumn Art. We went outside and gathered up lots of leaves, sticks, safe berries, and acorns to use to make animals and minibeasts with playdough.

Today we all had a Birthday Party for Elmer. We played party games, ate party food, sang 'Happy Birthday to Elmer', and gave him the cards we have been making in Literacy.

We also held our Parent Information Event this week. This was a great opportunity to discuss how well the children have settled in and to highlight some of the local services available to families. Here are just a few of the comments parents left in the "I am particularly pleased with..." box:

"welcoming atmosphere, approachable staff, attentive to problems"

"the chance to be involved with all school activities if and when required"

"how helpful and supportive the teachers are"

"all aspects of school life"

"nice and friendly place, very welcoming"

"liked the way the children were introduced to school and allowed to make friendships before being put into their classes"
