In Reception we have been learning all about recycling. We started by reading about Peppa Pig's recycling routine and thinking about the different ways we re-use and recycle things that we don't need any more.
At the start of the week we had a huge pile of rubbish to sort out, so as part of our maths learning we sorted the rubbish into groups according to whether we could recycle them or not, and then into smaller groups depending on which bin recycling bin they would go into.
Once we had sorted the rubbish we each took a few items in a bag and prepared for our first outing together.
We following an I-spy trail all the way to the recycling bank in Lymington to recycle all of our white bag rubbish.

The children had a great time exploring the different bins and talking about why we need to recycle. We had a very interesting discussion about what would happen if we put all rubbish into the ground.
When we got back to school we drew our own maps of our jouney and added labels and captions to explain the route we had taken and the key features we had used to find out way to the recycling bins and back again.
