Recycling Detectives.

What a fantastic week we have had learning about recycling. The photos speak for themselves, but here is what we have been up to...
Tuesday / Wednesday: We read about Peppa Pig in 'Recycling Fun' and looked at photos of bin bags along the side of roads in Lymington, talking about why some houses have more bags than others, why there are different coloured bags, and where they go after they have been taken away. In numeracy we sorted different recycling materials into the correct coloured bins ready to take them all to the recycling bins in Lymington.
On Thursday we went on an I-Spy Detective Trail to find the Recycling Bins and recycle some of our rubbish. It was a great opportunity to get out and about in our community and learn a bit more about our local area. In the afternoon we became marvellous map-makers and created our own maps to show the way from school to the recycling bins.
The children loved our mini school trip and they were extremely well behaved. They have learnt a lot about their local community and we are very grateful for the parents who were able to come and support our walk, we really wouldn't have been able to do it with out you.
