We are now into the second week of our Healthy Living Topic. The children have been very keen to learn about why it is important to eat a range of different foods, (including treats!) We started our learning by reading LOTS of information books all about food and keeping our bodies healthy. Then we used our ne understanding to make a chart on the wall to show which foods are healthy and which are treats.
We used our wall chart to write menus and design plates of healthy food. In the art area we designed and labelled a massive plate of food with the biggest ever knife and fork (even bigger than the ones we had in the Giant's castle when we learnt about traditional tales!!)
Out in the garden we have created a café where we are able to make and serve meals for one another.
Maybe over the long weekend we could help cook real meals at home, we have some great ideas for healthy ingredients...
