Going Shopping in the Classroom

This week the maths areas have been transformed into sweet shops, set up to expose the children to the language of money. We have talked about where money comes from (that it doesn't grow on trees!!) The children have had lots of practice counting pennies and have tried making amounts using 1p,s. Any counting  with pennies or shopping experience that you can give your child would be great over the Christmas holidays.
