We learnt all about how the Chinese prepare and celebrate this, from cleaning their houses, putting up decorations, giving special money envelopes to the children having firecrackers (fireworks) and watching parades. We were lucky enough to have Denning's mum in to talk to us about the Chinese New Year and bring in lots of beautiful decorations and clothes.
The children have been doing Chinese writing, making Chinese lanterns, Dragon Puppets, Chinese fans and they have learnt how the animals of the Chinese Zodiac decided who would have which year named after them.
